The Southeast Alamance Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 74-36 loss at the hands of Northwood. While losing is never fun, Southeast Alamance can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Northwood is ranked 56th).
Southeast Alamance's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jerry Sims, who scored 21 points along with five steals, and Davian Edwards who scored ten points along with two steals. Sims' trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Southeast Alamance struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northwood racked up 23 assists.
Northwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Powell, who scored 16 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Graves, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Southeast Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Northwood, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road.
Southeast Alamance will take on North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwood, they will be playing at home against Jordan-Matthews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
