The Anderson HomeSchool SONS pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-57 to Kokomo HomeSchool. Anderson HomeSchool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several SONS players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Eaks, who scored 15 points along with seven assists. Eaks is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Clark Emly, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
David Hart was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds for Kokomo HomeSchool. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hart has scored all season. Jude Hogsett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Anderson HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Wayne HomeSchool presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the SONS in Indiana (the Hawks are ranked 70th, while the SONS are ranked 250th). Kokomo HomeSchool is on the road again on Friday and plays the Bucks at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Benton HomeSchool will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
