The Hawken Hawks will face off against the Edgewood Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hawken is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
On Tuesday, Hawken made easy work of Orange and carried off a 13-3 victory. Considering the Hawks have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Cole Twardokus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Twardokus was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Maddox Ruch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Mester, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Hawken always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Edgewood came up short against Madison on Wednesday, falling 15-4. The Warriors have struggled against the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Zane Naylor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Hawken pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hawken has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Edgewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
