After losing to the Panguitch Bobcats the last time they met, the Hurricane Tigers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hurricane came out on top against Panguitch by a score of 58-51 on Thursday.
Hurricane was led to victory by Brigham Kemp and Cayleb Jackman. Kemp dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals, while Jackman almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jackman has scored at least 25% of Hurricane's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Hurst, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Panguitch lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cache Eyre. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with nine rebounds. Eyre continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Osburn, who scored 11 points.
Hurricane's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Panguitch, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
Hurricane's road trip will continue as they head out to face Grantsville at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Grantsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday. Panguitch won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Canyon View at 8:00 p.m. on December 29th. Canyon View has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 510 points over their last eight contests.
