The Lone Oak Buffaloes lost against the Bells Panthers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lone Oak had to suffer through a rough 59-14 loss at the hands of Bells. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lone Oak in their matchups with Bells: they've now lost four in a row.
Bells' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryson Thompson led the charge by rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Thompson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Allen, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Lone Oak's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Bells, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Lone Oak will head out on the road to face off against Howe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Howe is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Bells, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leonard at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leonard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 713th, while Bells is ranked 287th).
