After a string of seven wins, the Eaglecrest Raptors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Curtis. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eaglecrest has scored all season.
Eaglecrest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sir Devin Roberts, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Garrett Barger, who scored 14 points.
Eaglecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Curtis, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eaglecrest will be home for the holidays to greet Douglas County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Eaglecrest is ranked ninth). As for Curtis, they will play host again and welcome Emerald Ridge, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerald Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three matches.
