After losing to the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals the last time they met, the Piedmont Classical Bobcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Piedmont Classical walked away with a 66-54 win over College Prep & Leadership Academy on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Piedmont Classical.
Piedmont Classical found their leader in underclassman La'Trel Smith, who scored seven points along with five assists and five steals. Smith also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'el Lawson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Piedmont Classical has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont Classical will take on Bethany at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethany is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Triad Math and Science Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triad Math and Science Academy and College Prep & Leadership Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
