Football Recap: South Hills Piles Up the Points Against St. Lucy's

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Amat, South Hills was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the St. Lucy's Regents 59-12. The match marked the Huskies' most dominant win of the season so far.

Several Regents players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adrienne Ortiz, who picked up 140 receiving yards and one TD. Ortiz also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass. Another passer making a difference was Emma Ramirez, who threw for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Hills' victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. Lucy's, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, South Hills will head out to square off against Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comanches' defense has only allowed 4.3 points per game this season, so the Huskies' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Lucy's, they have already played their next contest, a 35-19 defeat against La Serna on the 26th.
