Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Beauregard's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Beauregard's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the Loachapoka Indians. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Indians back in December of 2024, they had to take a 37-30 loss.

Beauregard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lindsey Moulton led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Moulton a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Kam Torbert, who posted 18 points and five steals.

Beauregard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Loachapoka still got an impressive performance from Amanda Harris, who put up 13 points and three steals. Harris is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Essense Key was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Beauregard has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Loachapoka, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Beauregard will be playing in front of their home fans against Elmore County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beauregard is facing Elmore County at the right time seeing as Elmore County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Loachapoka has already played their next contest (against Reeltown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
