Eaton Rapids barely beat St. Johns the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Greyhounds never let the Redwings get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Greyhounds have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kalli Ordiway made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mallory Smith was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abi Pratt, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Eaton Rapids hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive games.
Lansing Catholic let Mason stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Thursday but luckily Lansing Catholic prevailed anyway. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 25, 2024.
Zoey Gruber was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Gruber was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Dunneback, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Austynn Arellano was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
Eaton Rapids' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lansing Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Lansing Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Eaton Rapids has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game.
