After losing to the Middleton Tigers the last time they met, the Spoto Spartans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Spoto walked away with a 37-29 win over Middleton on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Spoto.
Spoto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jose Deleon out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Deleon is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jerren Rodriguez, who scored 12 points.
Spoto's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Middleton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Spoto will head out on the road to square off against Durant at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Durant presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Spoto in Florida (Durant is ranked 119th, while Spoto is ranked 461st). As for Middleton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Armwood at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Armwood is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
