Cimarron-Memorial and Legacy are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Legacy Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cimarron-Memorial is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
On Wednesday, Cimarron-Memorial was able to grind out a solid win over Chaparral, taking the game 59-48.
Meanwhile, Legacy faced Shadow Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Legacy took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shadow Ridge. Legacy's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Legacy's loss came about despite a quality game from Rahjon Chambers, who scored 17 points. Chambers hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Maven-Bell Toleafoa was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cimarron-Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Legacy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.
Cimarron-Memorial came up short against Legacy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 66-62. Can Cimarron-Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
