The Kenwood Broncos came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Carmen Northwest 94-76. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kenwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Smith out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted four or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Calvin Robins Jr, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Kenwood is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Carmen Northwest, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-3.
Kenwood will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Longwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 537th, while the Broncos are ranked 25th). As for Carmen Northwest, they will head out on the road to square off against the Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milwaukee King is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
