Northwest Whitfield came into Thursday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the North Murray Mountaineers 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Northwest Whitfield got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 20-25, 15-11.

Jazmyn Doyle paced Northwest Whitfield's offense, picking up eight kills. Doyle got some help from Anzley Robinson and her 22 assists. Doyle and Robinson didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Northwest Whitfield's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for North Murray, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-24 record this season.

Northwest Whitfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Sonoraville on the 20th. As for North Murray, they will host Union County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
