White River was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in 2A SPSL. The Hornets defeated the Hornets 14-9 earlier in the week.
Steilacoom took down Clover Park 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
6-foot-0 quarterback Andrew Waltner of Fife is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1072. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, Orting's Jaysen Yoro has rushed for 840 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Victor Gamboa. The Washington star has 37 catches for 611 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Sumner takes on second place Washington. Sumner beat White River last week, while Washington defeated Pierce.
The Spartans and Joe Sprouse's team played the most hotly contested game in 2A SPSL this week, with the Spartans eventually emerging with a 14-9 victory.
