Arnold has gone 9-1 against Bay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Marlins will welcome the Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m.
Arnold managed to slip by Bozeman the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Marlins lost 8-2 to the Bucks on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Marlins have suffered against the Bucks since March 9, 2023.
Mason Laymon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, while Bay put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Walton. The Tornadoes blew past the Braves 10-0. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tornadoes yet this season.
Colby Hawkins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Calvin Howard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Liam Adams, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Bay's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Arnold, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arnold has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bay struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Arnold got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Bay by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Marlins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tornadoes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
