Baseball Recap: Aztec Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Aztec had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Kirtland Central Broncos a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aztec got a big performance out of Tyler Ray, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Archuleta, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Aztec was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in ten consecutive matchups.

Aztec's record is now 20-6. As for Kirtland Central, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-16.

As of now, neither Aztec nor the Broncos have any future games scheduled.
