Two dominant guards in Morgan Cremen and Jamia Brown are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Beachside Barracudas will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beachside is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Beachside can now relate to. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharks on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Beachside saw an underclassman step up: Madilyn (Madi) Ray dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ray hasn't dropped below two blocks for 15 straight games. Kendall Kane was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lincoln ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Gainesville 51-49. The victory was familiar territory for Lincoln who now have three in a row.
Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamiya Brown led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jamesia Smith, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Beachside's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Beachside hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.8 points per game. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging 57.7 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
