The Vincent Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Tuscaloosa Academy will be up against a hot Vincent team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Yellow Jackets put the hurt on Childersburg with a sharp 40-15 win on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Roberts, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Landon Archer did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vincent was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 214 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tuscaloosa Academy). They took their matchup last Friday with ease, bagging a 41-12 victory over Greene County. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Tigers are ranked 345th).
Tuscaloosa Academy's win came from a few key players Vincent will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mark Norris, who threw for 332 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards on only six carries. Those 332 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Ty Johnson, who rushed for 137 yards and three scores on only 15 carries.
Vincent's record is now 4-1. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, their record now sits at an identical 4-1.
Vincent ended up a good deal behind Tuscaloosa Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, losing 35-21. Thankfully for the Yellow Jackets, Preston Lancaster (who threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 75 yards on only ten carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
