Everett hasn't had much luck against Snohomish recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Seagulls will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m.
Everett couldn't beat Monroe on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Seagulls came up short against the Bearcats, falling 17-7.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Snohomish, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Marysville-Pilchuck 12-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Maddy Larsen made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allison Rush, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Snohomish always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Snohomish pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Everett, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Everett came up short against Snohomish in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 5-2. Can the Seagulls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
