Haltom has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Keller Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Haltom will be strutting in after a victory while Keller will be coming in after a loss.
Even though V.R. Eaton scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Haltom still came out on top. Haltom pulled ahead with a 35-34 photo finish over V.R. Eaton.
Among those leading the charge was Vudrico Roberson, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Roberson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Devan Ramirez Powell also helped out as he racked up 123 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Keller pushed their score all the way to 31 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timber Creek. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Keller was outscored by Timber Creek in the second.
Keller's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tre Griffiths, who picked up 142 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Beckham Robinson who threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns. Griffiths is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Haltom's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Keller, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
Haltom was dealt a bruising 32-0 loss at the hands of Keller in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Haltom, Tre Guerra (who threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
