While it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, the Greene Trojans were not quite the Chenango Forks Blue Devils's equal in the second half on Saturday. Greene took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chenango Forks. Greene was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chenango Forks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.
Chenango Forks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Walker Paske led the charge by scoring 13 points along with two steals. Stephen Samsel was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Greene's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chenango Forks, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greene will square off against Delaware Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Delaware Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Chenango Forks, they will head out on the road to square off against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
