Softball Recap: Great Mills Sets Scoring Season-High Against Westlake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Mills). They put the hurt on the Westlake Wolverines with a sharp 16-6 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won six in a row.

Megan Cromwell was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Olivia Quinn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Great Mills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Great Mills' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Westlake, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Great Mills will take on Southern at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Westlake, they will venture away from home to face off against Patuxent at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
