Alex Barron made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and eight RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Mikaela Bey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Real Life Christian Academy made easy work of Central Florida Christian Academy on Monday and carried off a 17-6 win. Considering the Raptors have won 12 contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Daniella Delgadillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Delgadillo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylee Lyon, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Neva Hill, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and one stolen base.
Real Life Christian Academy's record now sits at 12-2. As for Wildwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wildwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .465. However, it's not like Real Life Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .505. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wildwood suffered a grim 17-6 defeat to Real Life Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
