Last Thursday, Boyne City got themselves on the board against Oscoda, but Oscoda never followed suit. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 28-0 win over the Owls. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Boyne City.
Meanwhile, Tawas Area's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 44-7 defeat at the hands of Charlevoix. While losing is never fun, Tawas Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Charlevoix is ranked 167th).
Tawas Area's defeat came about despite a quality game from Maximus Herrick, who rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown.
Boyne City's win on Thursday bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Tawas Area, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
