Caden Caskey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. The contest was Caskey's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Preston Griffiths, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 58-52 W over Providence. Given Marvin Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Providence is ranked 479th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ardrey Kell pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marvin Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Ardrey Kell took their win against Marvin Ridge in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 71-47. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Marvin Ridge's Gannon Jones, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Ardrey Kell to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
