Softball Recap: Shelby Extends Winning Streak to Three

Shelby strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Marion Harding Presidents 19-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-3 on Tuesday.

Shelby got a massive performance out of Kendall Bowman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Bowman a new career-high. Elise Mullins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Shelby kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Shelby's record now sits at 3-0. As for Marion Harding, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Shelby will head out to face off against Madison Comprehensive at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Marion Harding, they will venture away from home to challenge Liberty Union at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
