Ascend Leadership is 0-3 against the Cavaliers since November of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Ascend Leadership Aviators will head out on the road to square off against the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. Ascend Leadership will be strutting in after a win while the Cavaliers will be coming in after a loss.
Ascend Leadership had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 28-24 win over Southern Wake Academy on Wednesday. The victory was just what Ascend Leadership needed coming off of a 41-21 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Southern Lee, who are still winless after their 16th match. They were beaten by Pinecrest 54-11 on Friday. Southern Lee was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.
Ascend Leadership's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10. As for Southern Lee, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home.
Ascend Leadership was taken down by the Cavaliers 57-2 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ascend Leadership was down 38-2.
