The Waldwick/Midland Park Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Butler Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Waldwick/Midland Park at home against Pompton Lakes as the squad secured a 35-7 victory. With Waldwick/Midland Park ahead 21-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Butler's game on Friday was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Glen Rock by a score of 27-20. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Glen Rock is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Butler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Perry, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Bobby Battipede and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Butler's victory.
Waldwick/Midland Park's win was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.8 points per game. Butler has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matches, giving them a 6-1 record.
