Washington has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Milford Buccaneers at 8:30 p.m. Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 234th in Maryland, while Milford is ranked 31st in Delaware).
Last Tuesday, Washington came up short against Polytech and fell 48-40.
Despite the loss, Washington saw an underclassman step up: Elijah Thomas scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Wigfall, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Milford ended the year with a bang, routing North Caroline 72-51. That looming 72-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Milford yet this season.
Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Milford, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
