It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Manila ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the Newport Greyhounds by a score of 13-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Manila's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Newport, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manila will challenge Marked Tree at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newport, they will face off against White County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
