Colorado Academy has gone 7-1 against Denver Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Thunder at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Colorado Academy 3.3, Denver Christian 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Saturday, Colorado Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Resurrection Christian.
Colorado Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kieran Delaney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Charlie Rakowski was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Denver Christian entered their tilt with Monte Vista on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Pirates 8-2. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on James Lord, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Bovasso, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Denver Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Colorado Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Colorado Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Denver Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Colorado Academy came up short against Denver Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 13-9. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
