The Christ the King Crusaders had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Langtree Charter 74-52. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-24.
Christ the King's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marco Tampoya, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Parker Ryan was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Langtree Charter lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Nesbit. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Munters, who scored 15 points.
Christ the King's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Langtree Charter, they bumped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their 18th straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ the King will take on Pine Lake Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Lake Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Christ the King likes a good challenge. As for Langtree Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradford Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradford Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Langtree Charter in North Carolina (Bradford Prep is ranked 231st, while Langtree Charter is ranked 593rd).
