The LaMoille Lions the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Earlville Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Last Wednesday, LaMoille was able to grind out a solid win over Hiawatha, taking the game 62-54.
LaMoille's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Martin, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Billhorn, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Earlville can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Leland 77-37 at home. The win was nothing new for Earlville as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Earlville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cook, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Cook is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Ryan Browder was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
LaMoille's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Earlville, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: LaMoille have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Earlville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
