Northside - Pinetown dropped to 2-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Manteo Redskins by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 last Tuesday.

Allie Davis got Northside - Pinetown off to a strong start despite the final result, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Davis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Ella Kate Hanna was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
As for Manteo, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs this season.
On Manteo's side, Makenna Gray made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Gray has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Bella Huntingford was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Hayley Wescott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside - Pinetown will welcome Perquimans County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manteo, they will face off against Currituck County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.75 runs per game on average), something the Redskins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
