Given Kankakee Trinity Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Westlake Christian Academy is ranked 632nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kankakee Trinity Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tommy Kujawa, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Kujawa is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Green, who scored ten points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Kankakee Trinity Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Westlake Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Kankakee Trinity Academy will head out on the road to square off against HomeSchool Resource Center at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Westlake Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Mooseheart at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
