The Declo Hornets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 50-14 win over Wendell. The result was nothing new for Declo, who have now won six games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Although Wendell took the loss, they still got scores from Jesse Chavez and Michael Talbert.
Declo's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.5 points per game. As for Wendell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Declo will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grangeville at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Grangeville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Declo likes a good challenge. Wendell is on the road again on Friday and play against Bear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Bear Lake is ranked 53rd, while Wendell is ranked 56th).
