Even though the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Baldwin Bulldogs still came out on top. Baldwin secured a 60-56 W over Bishop Seabury Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Baldwin also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Baldwin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Talan Torrez, who scored 23 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Torrez grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Ziembicki, who scored 19 points.
Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Honarvar is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jace Hoffman, who scored 14 points.
Baldwin's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baldwin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Augusta at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Bishop Seabury Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wellsville at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Wellsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bishop Seabury Academy in Kansas (Wellsville is ranked 17th, while Bishop Seabury Academy is ranked 74th).
