The Mountain Range Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Fairview 65-38. Mountain Range was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Mountain Range's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Lucero, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josieraye Running Wolf, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mountain Range's defeat was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Fairview, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will face off against Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Poudre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
