Softball Recap: North Lenoir's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Lenoir entered their tilt with Wallace-Rose Hill on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-4 back in March.

Hallie Fowler and Maddie Rouse made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Fowler tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Rouse tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Fowler went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Rouse went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lakyn Whitley, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Hatcher, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

North Lenoir hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

North Lenoir's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

North Lenoir will venture away from home to challenge East Duplin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they will welcome Hobbton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
