Monmouth Academy put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Maine Central Institute Huskies. Considering the Mustangs have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Shannah Parsons made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rileigh Chase was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Chase is crushing it when it comes to triples: she's hit at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
