Basketball Recap: Klahowya Falls Despite Big Games from Bailey O'brien and Caroline Horan

If Klahowya was riding high fresh off their 47-27 takedown of Vashon Island last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Klahowya Eagles and the Cedarcrest Red Wolves didn't end well, with the Klahowya Eagles falling 59-42.

Despite the defeat, Klahowya had strong showings from Caroline Horan, who posted 12 points, and Bailey O'Brien, who put up 17 points and eight rebounds. O'Brien is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Payton Wegleitner, who had seven points.

Cedarcrest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stella Metcalf, who earned seven points along with 14 steals and eight assists. Avery Dice was another key player, going 7 of 8 on her way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

Klahowya has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Cedarcrest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Klahowya didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-17 victory against Evergreen on the 20th. As for Cedarcrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-20 loss against Meridian on the 21st.
