Pine Forge Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They slipped by Mercy Career & Technical 57-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Mercy Career & Technical's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Caple, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Taji Stewart, who scored 13 points.
Pine Forge Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Mercy Career & Technical, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.
Pine Forge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mercy Career & Technical, they will head out on the road to square off against Life Center Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Life Center Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mercy Career & Technical in their respective states (Life Center Academy is ranked 129th in New Jersey, while Mercy Career & Technical is ranked 323rd in Pennsylvania).
