Millikan is 9-1 against Long Beach Poly since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rams will host the Jackrabbits at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Long Beach Poly will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Millikan extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Rams never let Jordan get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Rams' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Mia Meza made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lexy Everrett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Avery Bartz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Millikan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Long Beach Poly never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cabrillo on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Jaguars.
Like Millikan, Long Beach Poly also got a great game from a two-way player: Bella Correa. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Correa was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Long Beach Poly got a massive performance out of Emoni Lam Sam, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-5. Alayna Veavealagi was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Long Beach Poly's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Millikan, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millikan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Long Beach Poly struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Millikan was able to grind out a solid win over Long Beach Poly in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 8-3. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jackrabbits turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
