Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Ryan). They walked away with a 70-61 victory over Audenried on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders and Ragdolls as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Archbishop Ryan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Russell led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 16 points, nine boards, and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Mark Gallagher, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Russell wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Archbishop Ryan was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Archbishop Ryan back to even at 3-3. As for Audenried, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Archbishop Ryan and Audenried could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Archbishop Ryan (ranked 173rd) will meet Benedictine (ranked tenth) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Audenried (ranked 438th) will meet St. Joseph's Prep (ranked 163rd) at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th.
