The Victor Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Irondequoit Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Irondequoit took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Victor, who comes in off a win.
Even though Victor has not done well against Webster Schroeder recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Victor pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over Webster Schroeder. The win made it back-to-back wins for Victor.
Meanwhile, Irondequoit came up short against Brockport on Friday and fell 48-41. Irondequoit has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aubrey Smith, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Bottiglier, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Irondequoit were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Victor's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Irondequoit, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Victor against Irondequoit in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 as the squad secured a 68-31 win. Does Victor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Irondequoit turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
