Marion Local barely beat Russia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Flyers blew past the Raiders 18-5 on Friday. Considering the Flyers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ian Rindler, who fired off two home runs, five runs, and four RBI while going 6-for-6. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Poeppelman, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Marion Local was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Marion Local's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Russia, they dropped their record down to 13-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Marion Local will head out to take on Minster at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Flyers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Russia has already played their next contest (against Oakwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
