The La Lumiere Blue Lakers stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Calumet Christian 83-41 at home. Given La Lumiere Blue's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Calumet Christian is ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Calumet Christian still got an impressive performance from Brad Nymeyer, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Nymeyer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Michael Rivera was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
La Lumiere Blue's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points per game. As for Calumet Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Lumiere Blue will challenge New Trier at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Calumet Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against 21st Century Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
