Clinton hasn't had much luck against Powell recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Clinton's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Powell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Clinton barely beat Knoxville Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Fighting Irish on Saturday. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Mandy Chambers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Bryana Holt was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last eight matchups. Maddisyn Reynolds was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Powell came up short against Gibbs on Monday and fell 10-5. The Panthers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Powell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Crawley, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Powell's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Clinton, their record is now 19-9-1.
Clinton might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Powell in their previous matchup on Wednesday. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
