The Indian Creek Timberwolves came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on LaMoille with a sharp 68-42 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Indian Creek has posted since November 24, 2023.
Indian Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakob McNally out in front who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that McNally pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Probst, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, LaMoille still got an impressive performance from Tyler Billhorn, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Klein, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Indian Creek is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for LaMoille, they bumped their record down to 5-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Indian Creek will challenge Westminster Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Westminster Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. LaMoille won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against DePue at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (DePue is ranked 723rd, while LaMoille is ranked 722nd).
